Sewing Hope: Vocational Tailoring Training Center A partnership with Faith Center Church in Kigali, Rwanda.
Did you know? Around 8–10% of Rwandan households are led by youth under 25, many stepping into adult responsibilities early due to the lasting impacts of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi and poverty. These young leaders often face barriers to education and stable income, making programs like Sewing Hope essential to equip them with skills, tools, and hope for a sustainable future.
Go2theNations first significant project in Rwanda is the launch of a training center to provide vulnerable youth and single mothers the necessary education and tools to start their career in tailoring and embroidery. We have joined forces with Faith Center Church in Kigali - a thriving church with a heart to see the most vulnerable equipped and empowered to change their lives and future generations.
During the first year, this initiative aims to train 60 vulnerable youth and single mothers in tailoring and embroidery skills in a rural area near Kigali, Rwanda.
Many of these individuals face poverty, unemployment, and social stigma due to life circumstances beyond their control. Through this program, participants receive hands-on training in tailoring and embroidery, along with mentorship, spiritual care, and tools for reconciliation and healing. Graduates will receive a sewing machine and the support needed to launch their own small businesses, empowering them to build sustainable livelihoods. Post-graduation mentorship will continue to walk alongside them, ensuring the training leads to lasting, life-changing impact.
Join us in empowering Rwanda’s next generation with hope and dignity.
